Japanese Shibori for Wearable Art
Shibori is a process of transforming
fabric from a two dimensional into a three dimensional form by folding and
pleating. Workshop will explore the unique resist dyeing method of arashi
shibori (pole wrapping), itajime shibori (fold & clamp) and kanoko shibori
(stitch resist) fabric manipulation. The fabric is then dyed and over-dyed
resulting in an array of the most fascinating combination of color and
texture.
